2019即将结束，暖阳如沐，不如来一场足球赛吧！

2019 is coming to an end. The sun is shining brightly, which is the perfect time to have a football match!

周五的西外操场上，初中双语部预初年级的第一场足球比赛正在火热进行中。预初年级的“小嫩芽”们对集体运动的热衷和向往从秋季运动会上就可窥见。最是意气风发的旋风少年，最是青春无限的美好时光。 

The first football match of grade 6 in Xiwai Bilingual Middle School Department was finally held on the playground last Friday. Those juniors from grade 6 have been yearning for team sports, as could be seen from the previous autumn’s sports meeting. Young and energetic as they were, those tornado boys who participated in the football match really had a wonderful time.

The particularity of international school education requires students not only to have excellent academic records, but also to cultivate personality and other comprehensive abilities. Athletic contests play a vital role. Many students from our school will study abroad and yearn for American colleges and universities. It is known that these schools particularly advocate sportsmanship, especially Ivy League universities. They all have their own powerful school sports teams. A competition should not only reflect students’ ball skills, but also exhibit qualities such as leadership, teamwork spirit and powers of observation. These core competencies give students a strong advantage in terms of applying for foreign universities that attach great importance to sports. 

Teachers and students must think together about how to get along with their classmates in the coming four years; how to integrate; how to turn the class into a showcase for grade 6 students. Those who are very good at sports should have such a showcase to gain encouragement, applause and confidence. We hope every student will love his team members, his class or even his competitors through competitions. The final goal of the football match was not to compete, as this should never be the primary aim of sports; but to make students realize what qualities a student should possess – unity, cooperation, positivity and the will to never give up.

6年级的学生们在“绿毯”上飞快地奔跑，而我们的体育陈老师则身居界河上，裁决胜负，一定乾坤。

他们就如“飞龙”穿行着。有的死防角落，有的专注于进攻。6（11）班的守门员徐钊阳紧紧盯着场上的足球，一夫当关，万夫莫开，没有任何球能从他的身侧滑过逃进球网中，任何进攻在他眼中无异于“关公面前耍大刀”。

看！13班的吴宇航猛地踢出一个球，场上响起了阵阵欢呼声、加油声。他小小的身影穿梭于每个球员之间，撕开防线，扰乱敌方防守计划。短短几秒钟，他的用意立刻被队员们心领神会。于是乎，该队队员先顶，再冲，射门，没中？再补一脚！耶！球进了。全场又是一片沸腾！

黑白相间的足球在蔚蓝的天空中划出一道道优美的抛物线，像极了观众们波澜起伏的看球心情。

国际教育的特殊性要求我们的学生不仅要有过硬的学术成绩，其他综合能力的培养、人格的培育也至关重要。体育比赛在这之中起到了很关键的作用。我们的学生今后都会去国外留学，西方高校尤为崇尚体育精神，并且都有自己强大的校队。一场比赛所体现的不仅仅是学生的球技，更是领导力、团队协作能力、观察力等各方面的素质，这些核心竞争力对学生申请国外大学，尤其是重视体育运动的大学，有很大优势。

一个上午的时间，群雄逐鹿。预初年级组的学子们为了班集体的荣誉全力拼搏争输赢。但输赢终归不是我们举行这场比赛的目的。我们体育老师之所以精心策划这场比赛，更是为了通过体育比赛培养学生的班级凝聚力和团队合作精神。

预初学生将与自己所在的班级相处长达四年，如何融入进去，如何让班级成为展示自我的舞台，值得他们思考。那些擅长体育的同学，就应该有这样一个展示风采的舞台，获得鼓励，收获掌声，培养自信。我们愿每一个孩子都能通过比赛，爱上自己的队员，爱上自己的班级，爱上自己的对手。

这场足球比赛的最终目的并不是为了一较高下，不是为了“争”——那不是体育运动的目的，而是为了让学生明白作为一个学生该有的品质：团结合作、积极向上、永不言弃。
